How It Works
To check if you're eligible for this weight management programme, you must complete an online health consultation. This will be reviewed by a prescribing pharmacist and if deemed safe and suitable for you, they will prescribe Wegovy or Mounjaro taking into account your goals and preference.

Side Effects
As with all medication, there are potential side effects with weight loss medication, the most common of which include nausea, diarrhoea, decreased appetite, vomiting, constipation, indigestion, and stomach (abdominal) pain. These side effects may be temporary, lasting anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, and there are ways you can help manage these. This weight management programme combines a clinically proven GLP-1 medication, which is injected weekly, alongside nutritional and movement guides, to set you up to successfully meet your health goals. Wegovy and Mounjaro, which are both GLP-1 medications which are clinically proven to help people lose weight. Wegovy is the brand name for the medication ‘semaglutide’ and Mounjaro is the brand name for the medication ‘tirzepatide.’ A prescribing pharmacist will review your consultation. If they deem the medication to be safe and effective for you, they will prescribe Wegovy or Mounjaro taking into account your goals and preference.
Wegovy and Mounjaro both work by mimicking the action of the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) hormone, which regulates your appetite. Mounjaro also mimics another hormone that regulates appetite: glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP).
GLP-1 works in your brain to regulate your appetite, meaning these medications increase feelings of fullness and reduce feelings of hunger. They also reduce blood sugar by promoting the release of insulin when blood sugar levels are high.
Both Wegovy and Mounjaro come in the form of injectable pens, which you use to deliver a weekly liquid injection of medication under the skin. Weight management medication, including Wegovy and Mounjaro, is designed for long term use alongside lifestyle changes. It’s important that you also increase exercise and eat a balanced diet when using this medication.
Wegovy: You will start taking the lowest dose (0.25mg) once a week. You'll receive monthly check-ins to start with, to ensure you're tolerating the medication and seeing positive progress. If deemed suitable, each month, your dose of Wegovy will increase until you reach a 'maintenance' dose, at which point, we will follow-up every 3 months. If you are not tolerating the medication well, your titration will be slowed down to help your body adjust to the medication.
Mounjaro: You will start taking the lowest dose (2.5mg) once a week. You'll receive monthly check-ins to start with, to ensure you're tolerating the medication and seeing positive progress. If deemed suitable, each month, your dose of Mounjaro will increase until you reach a 'maintenance' dose, at which point, we will follow-up every 3 months. If you are not tolerating the medication well, your titration will be slowed down to help your body adjust to the medication.

Prescribing pharmacists take into account various elements including Body Mass Index (BMI) and a patient’s medical history, including the results of previous attempts at weight management.
Recent research shows that whilst semaglutide weight management medication may have an impact on symptoms of polycystic ovary syndrome in patients with obesity*. Results showed that after three months of treatment and lifestyle changes, 80% of patients saw normalised menstrual cycles, which consequently may have a positive fertility.

Your parcel is sent in discreet outer packaging, with an unbranded cardboard box inside.
Before your first use, store your injection pens in a refrigerator (2° C to 8° C) (making sure to keep away from the cooling element). After your first use, store below 30° C or, preferably, in a refrigerator (2° C to 8° C). Do not freeze Wegovy and do not use your medication if it has been frozen. When the pen is not in use, make sure to keep the pen cap on. Do not expose the pen to direct sunlight.
Yes, both medicines are part of The Black Triangle Scheme. The Black Triangle (▼) Scheme is a program that monitors medicines for additional safety. Wegovy and Mounjaro are part of the scheme because they are new medicines, and the scheme means patients and prescribers are encouraged to report suspected adverse drug reactions (ADRs) to the MHRA through the Yellow Card Scheme (link: https://www.gov.uk/drug-safety-update/the-black-triangle-scheme-or).

Weight management medication is designed for long-term progress when teamed with lifestyle changes. You will start off taking the lowest dose of Wegovy and Mounjaro, once a week. HANX will follow up regularly with advice and guidance to help you settle into the weight management programme. You will have monthly follow-up consultations, which you'll be asked to complete to share your progress and experiences with your prescriber. If you are experiencing no major side effects, and your prescribing pharmacist deems it suitable for you, you will increase your dose of Wegovy or Mounjaro each month until you reach the most effective a 'maintenance' dose for you and check in with you regularly.
